MOV is Apple’s container, and it is what iPhones record into. People usually want one when something in the Apple world asks for it: QuickTime, Final Cut or an older Mac app. Most other times MP4 is the better choice, and the same video usually fits in either.
MOV to MP4 is the common direction
If you are holding an iPhone video that will not play on Windows or a TV, you want the other way round: MOV to MP4.
Questions
Is MOV better quality than MP4?
Neither is better in itself. Both are containers, and quality comes from the codec and bitrate inside.
Does this work on Windows?
Yes. It runs in the browser on any computer.
