What counts as a tool here

A conversion turns one format into another. A tool does something to the file beyond that: makes it smaller, changes its shape, cuts a piece out of it, removes what is hidden inside it, or pulls it apart into its parts. Some of them answer a question instead of writing a file — what this file really is, what key a song is in, whether two pictures are the same photo.

All of them work the same way as everything else on this site. The file is read from your disk into the page, worked on there, and handed back. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no size limit, no queue and no account.

Do the tools work offline?

Yes, once the page has loaded. The converter caches itself the first time you use it, so you can disconnect and keep working. A few tools download a model on first use and say so before they do.

Is there a limit on file size?

No fixed limit. The ceiling is your own machine's memory, so a long video is slower on a phone than on a laptop, but nothing is rejected for being too big.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily cap. Your device does the work, so there is no server bill to pass on.
