Take down hiss, hum and rumble, bring the voice forward and even out its level.
Take hiss, hum and room noise out of a voice memo, podcast or video, bring the voice forward and even out its level. Free, and nothing is uploaded.
What this tool is for
For a recording made somewhere that was not a studio, which is most of them. A voice memo with the fridge humming behind it, an interview over a laptop fan, a lecture with the air conditioning on, a video where the street is louder than the person talking. It works out what the steady noise sounds like as it listens and takes it down, cuts the low rumble a desk or a passing bus puts into a microphone, lifts the frequencies speech lives in, and evens out the level so a sentence spoken away from the mic is not lost. A video keeps its picture exactly as it was; only the sound is redone.

Questions
Will it make a phone recording sound like a studio?
No, and nothing honest will. It takes away the noise that sits under the voice, steady hiss and hum and room tone, and makes the voice easier to follow. Echo from a bare room and people talking over each other are still there afterwards.
Which noise setting should I use?
Medium suits most recordings. Light is for a faint hiss you would rather keep subtle. Strong takes down a loud hum or traffic, and at that strength the voice can start to sound a little processed, which is the usual trade.
Does it work on music?
It is tuned for speech. On music the noise reduction can thin out cymbals and reverb tails and the levelling flattens the dynamics, so for a song, use Normalise Loudness instead.
Is my recording uploaded?
No. The filters run in your browser, on your own machine, and the file never leaves it.
