Questions
Does it re-encode the video?
No. The picture is copied through untouched and only the audio is written, so the quality is bit-for-bit what you started with and a long clip finishes in about the time it takes to read it.
What if the music is longer than the video?
You choose. Matching the video ends the file when the picture does, which is almost always what people mean. Letting the audio finish holds the last frame until the sound runs out.
Can I keep the original sound underneath?
Yes, there is an option to mix rather than replace. That does re-encode the audio, because two tracks have to be combined into one.
Does it sync to the beat?
No. It starts both at the beginning. Lining a cut up with music means trimming the clip or the track first.
