Questions
Does joining re-encode my videos?
Only if it has to. When every clip already shares a codec, size and frame rate, the streams are copied end to end with no quality loss at all and a dozen clips take about a second. Mixed sources have to be put on a common grid first, which does mean re-encoding, and that is slower.
What order do they join in?
The order you added them. Add them one at a time, or drop a selection in the order you want them to play.
Can I join clips of different sizes?
Yes. They are scaled onto the first clip’s frame size and given a common frame rate and sample rate, because a container cannot hold a track that changes shape halfway through. Mixing portrait and landscape works but will letterbox one of them.
Is there a limit on how many?
Only your device’s memory. The work happens in this tab, so a long list of large files is limited by the same thing that limits any other program on your machine.
