Questions
What is the difference between the accurate and instant methods?
Instant copies the streams without re-encoding, so it is nearly immediate and lossless, but it can only cut at a keyframe, which may be a second or two from where you asked. Accurate re-encodes and cuts exactly where you said.
Why did my instant trim start in the wrong place?
Because the nearest keyframe was earlier than your start point. Video only stores complete pictures every few seconds; everything between is described as changes. Use the accurate method when the exact frame matters.
Can I cut a section out of the middle?
This takes one continuous range. Removing a middle section means trimming twice and joining the results.
Does trimming lose quality?
Not with the instant method, which copies the original data untouched. The accurate method re-encodes, which costs a little.
