Watermark a Video

Stamp text or a logo onto a clip, positioned against the frame.

Stamp text or a logo onto a clip, positioned against the frame. Free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no upload: it all runs in your browser.

What Watermark a Video is for

For marking a clip as yours before it goes out: a preview for a client, a rough cut on a review site, or footage you would rather was not reposted without attribution.

Worth knowing

Position is set against the frame rather than in fixed pixels, so the same settings land correctly on a 4K clip and a phone recording.

How to use it

  1. Add your files. Drop them on the page or choose them. They stay on your device.
  2. Set the output format and quality. The defaults suit most files.
  3. Press convert and save the results, individually or as one ZIP.

Questions

Where should the watermark go?

A bottom corner is the convention and the least intrusive. The centre is far harder to crop out, which is the point if the mark is there to deter reuse rather than to sign the work.

Text or a logo?

Text for a name or a web address, and it needs nothing but typing. A logo for brand work, supplied as a PNG with transparency so it sits on the footage rather than in a box.

Will the watermark still fit on a different resolution?

Yes. The size and position are set against the frame rather than in fixed pixels, so the same settings land correctly on a 4K clip and a phone recording.

What opacity works best?

Around 50 to 60 per cent: readable enough to serve its purpose, faint enough not to fight the footage.
